People say that it is not the ball to be played in the court of workplace. It sounds weird to be spiritual at the place of being professional; rather they are antonyms of each other. Nowadays, bells of spirituality have started ringing in the workplaces due to the world's best sellers' contributions like "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and Chicken Soup for the Soul", the existence of management gurus and religious speakers. The stressful and traumatic work environment compels people at work to take a turn towards this in-depth insight.
The vigilance about peace at work has lead to awaken the conscience of everyone about spiritual quotient. Conventionally, spirituality had no place in business as the modern management concepts advocate that the business of business is business. Those concepts of management can be implemented effectively if one has wisdom of spiritual conscience. The senses of resilience, contentment, forgiveness, benevolence, dutifulness, discipline, courtesy, cheerfulness and selflessness are some of the components of attitude that infuse the spirit of spirituality.

In the initial days of one's career-ladder, IQ (Intelligence quotient) is important as it derives him to acquire the position he wants to grab in order to sustain his life. In the medieval period, he has to maintain his career and reach to the heights ,needs to maintain his EQ(Emotional quotient).The period ahead of it ,usually in the senior most positions, the person is required to be more complacent and motivating. He has to shine and set the examples before others to follow. He is required to develop SQ (Spiritual Quotient) in order to be matured, patient, organized, selfless, self-disciplined, self-motivated, self-directed and self-managed. He has to lead others therefore he has to lead himself first as leadership begins within.
The Spiritual quotient cannot be measured or defined but can only be perceived .Those who invigorate themselves with the illumination and power of spirituality are better managers and elite performers as stated by various empirical studies. They have compassion and devotion towards everything they do; they are always well wishers of the organization. They place their heart and soul to their work .Since they do everything with ultimate passion and burning desire, they succeed. Don't we know that the eminent personalities and big entrepreneurs read religious scriptures and inspirational books? They do meditate and do various exercises to keep their SQ alive.
The enlightenment of spirituality paves the path to mental peace and tranquility. The bestsellers, management gurus, religious leaders show the path of righteousness hence delivering them ample contentment and happiness. A happy, contended and generous person is instinctively a good performer as he keeps his environment illuminated with his positive waves. It is not necessary that SQ is required at the senior most positions but it facilitates them to be more vigorous, vigilant and concerned about the stakeholders. The spirit of spirituality is required at the beginning and medieval period also but the mix of it varies depending upon person to person and situation to situation. For instance, if a juvenile entrant grabs the job of his choice but he is not satisfied after acquiring it as reality is always different from vision. It is the beginning of his life if he becomes frustrated and depressed he'll curtail down his growth. If invigorates himself with the truth -"Whatever happens is for good", can assume the present job as an opportunity to move to the better opportunity. Similarly, at the middle level management or once the person is experienced can also come across such instances when he commits blunder and that could engulf his job. He can always learn a lesson from "Mistakes are stepping stone to success". He might get a better job; he will keep himself cautious from being repeating the similar mistake. Thus, at every stage of life one has to be on his guard towards spirituality.
Spirituality at workplace will certainly help the people to instill an extra edge in order to lead a healthier life with grace, love and gratitude. The organizations, nowadays, have insight towards work ethics or business ethics; those ethics can be implanted easily among personnel as they already have a platform existent. The people inclined towards spirituality easily acclimatize themselves with such a work culture. The malpractices, malicious activities, unethical issues, politics in the working environment tend to slow down their rate or diminish their occurrence. One can manage interpersonal issues, stress, conflicts, crises, tribulations and disturbances of the organization in a healthier manner if he is invigorating and enlightening himself with the concept of spirituality.
It is said that people who are more spiritually involved achieve better results in organizational performance. They are innovative and motivated. The time has come to encourage spirituality in workplace. It is time to reclaim India's own spiritual heritage by returning to our arsha bharatha spiritual ancestry after reshaping it to suit the present situation.

But rightly understood, it is a vital awareness that pervades all realms of our being" Hence once can consider workplace also, to be the court where the ball of spirituality can be played.
